A medium roast strikes a perfect balance between the bright, acidic notes of lighter roasts and the deep, rich flavors of darker roasts. It’s known for its well-rounded taste with a smooth, balanced flavor. You can typically expect mild acidity with a medium-bodied brew that carries flavors like caramel, chocolate, nuts, and sometimes even fruity or floral undertones depending on the bean origin.
Mexico Chiapas
Mexican Chiapas coffee typically has a smooth, balanced, and complex flavor profile with notes of chocolate, nuts, and citrus, and a pleasant, often brisk acidity. Its taste can range from bright and fruity to rich and sweet, depending on the roast, but it is generally considered a clean and approachable coffee with a medium body and a lingering, smooth finish.
Colombian
Common tasting notes include chocolate, nuts, and caramel, along with fruity flavors like apple, red berries, or citrus, and occasional herbal or spicy hints. Its distinct flavor profile is influenced by regional variations in soil and climate within Colombia, creating diverse subtle notes that are highly consistent and appealing to a wide range of palates.
CBC Highlands Blend
A fully-balanced hybrid from Colombia, Guatemala, and Papua New Guinea.
Medium bodied full-flavored coffee with the sweetness of cane sugar with a creamy body and sweet caramel overtones. Its creamy sweetness is incredibly balanced, flexible, and unrivaled, just like my Grand Dad's banjo picking.
A dark roast has a bold, intense flavor with deep, smoky, and sometimes even bittersweet characteristics. The roasting process brings out flavors like dark chocolate, caramelized sugar, toffee, and spicy notes. As the beans reach a more developed roast, much of the origin flavors fade into a more uniform, roasty taste, with low acidity and a full body.
Organic Blue Moon - Bali
Some coffees are good, and some are out of this world. Organic Bali Blue Moon is definitely the latter. This unique, single-origin coffee comes from the lush mountain slopes of Bali, in the Kintamani Highlands, where coffee trees grow alongside oranges and tangerines, intrinsically enhancing the beans with a subtle citrus sweetness. Expect a dry, wine like, crispness upfront, followed by a long, satisfying finish with hints of vanilla, cocoa, and a touch of nuttiness.
